ADVANTAGES OF GOOGLE'S SELF DRIVING TECHNOLOGY WITH RESPECT TO MTC.
The MTC buses must have Google's self - driving car software installed in them ,
with manual intervention which could be useful in case of failure.
A MTC bus commuter who is very sure will use MTC bus service for more than 100 days in a period of 4 months
should be granted a bus pass before the period of 4 months or after the period of 4 months on submitting proof.
The passenger will be able able to get a refund of atleast Rs.200(If the route is longer ,more savings are possible).
Proof required to be submitted by passenger for refund of extra money:
The passenger can either submit tickets or MTC can implement the following technology which must be combined
with the technology used by google in self driving car.
A device similar to a mobile phone must be provided in combination with the following technology:
An effective alternative to this is the system used by Apollo hospitals to track patients:
A sticker with a bar code is applied to the arm of the patients which is used for identification,similarly a complex bar code
can be attached to the ID card/bus pass which also has photo graph
of the person for whom the bus pass has been provided by MTC,
so that the MTC BUS CONDUCTOR can simply scan the bar code and give a ticket or a duplicate bus pass if the person
is robbed of the original bus pass.
Also a mobile phone app can be introduced which will ease the commuter on the time remaining for a MTC bus
to reach a particular bus stop.
The mobile app must provide the following details:
1)The MTC bus number that arrive at a particular bus stop in tamil nadu.
2)the time a MTC bus will take to arrive at a particular bus stop in tamil nadu.
3)The time a MTC bus with empty seats will arrive at a particular bus stop.
4)The
*minimum* time taken by a MTC bus to reach a particular bus stop.With
the help of (Google self driving)GPS, the *approximate* maximum time a
bus will take to arrive
at a bus stop can also be calculated.Google's elf driving can
calculate approximate time based on the speed of the vehicle even if it
is manually controlled.
5)The app must be secure against
hackers and free mobile anti-virus must be suggested to be
downloaded,installed and scanned before this app is downloaded.
6)the app must be made available for different platforms , this can
be done by introducing a multi-platform app or the A version of the
same app for various platforms ranging from Android ,Ubuntu to Windows
Phone.
In Addition to mobile phone app the following must be implemented on every MTC bus stop in chennai :

ADVANTAGES OF GOOGLE'S SELF DRIVING TECHNOLOGY WITH RESPECT TO MTC.
1)The technology will calculate the most fuel-efficient and fastest route from source to the destination, agreed that MTC buses
follow the same route every day,but their speed is not the same, Google's technology can vary the speed of the MTC bus
to achieve fuel efficiency,speed of transportation,safety of passengers in extreme cases.
2)In case an ambulance is on it's way to a hospital,The speed of the MTC buses on their respective routes will be adjusted such
that the Ambulance is at it's fastest.
3)In
case of an emergency within the MTC bus , the MTC bus can commute to
the location where the critical nature of the emergency is at it's
minimum.
4)Further development can be done to google's self driving
technology by adding a method to detect the engine conditionas to detect
any malfunction
due to which it may break down,so that the
bus will be guided to the next bus stop while another bus is directed to
the particular bus stop to commute passengers.
The MTC bus which is about to break down is safely guided to it's garage or to the side of the road.
5)Google's technology can be further improved by the following idea
(suggestion must be sent to google by the state government ,So that Google launches
such technology ASAP).
Keeping the engine of the MTC bus in working condition when it is about to be damaged
and reverse the process of damage to the vehicle by using certain chemical solutions which can be stored in the vehicle
and can be let to the desired part of the engine to control the damage to the vehicle.
If
the bar code cannot be used by the MTC,then MTC must provide a device
like a basic mobile phone worth less than Rs.1000 INR having an IMEI
number which can be tracked and retrieved on being robbed/lost.
The device must be capable of sending messages , making calls and
must have a pre-installed app with the features of the app mentioned
above.The firmware of this device must be very secure.
BENEFITS OF MAKING THE ABOVE IDEA A REALITY :
